April Favourites

All the chocolate eggs have been eaten and another month has passed and that means another lot of products that I have discovered (or rediscovered in some cases), that I thought I’d tell you about. Here;’s what I have been loving throughout the month of April;

REN Serum

REN Serum

REN SKINCARE – ‘Keep Young and Beautiful Firming and Smoothing Serum’ – I figured it was time to grow up and stop relying on serum samples that I get everytime I order something online! So I did a bit of research and found Ren Skincare very helpful on Twitter and decided on this particular serum. It is a bit of a minefield choosing skincare products, so definitely worth looking into what’s right for your skin. So far, I’m really happy with this one. I have been using it for a couple of weeks now and apply it both morning and evening time after I’ve toned my skin and before I apply my moisturiser. It’s not cheap at €54, but claims to keep your skin looking younger for longer by reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, which is always a winner in my eyes. I also think that it will last me a few months so it’s not too bad. There is one thing I really don’t like about this product and it’s the smell. When you really rub it into the skin it just doesn’t have a pleasant smell which really annoys me!! (silly I know). My skin definitely feels smoother and softer to touch so I’m going to keep with it and hopefully reap the benefits.

Tanya Burr - Champagne Toast Lip Gloss

Tanya Burr – Champagne Toast Lip Gloss

Tanya Burr – Champagne Toast – Whilst I do try to make an attempt to wear more colour on my lips, I just can’t help myself by going back to the neutrals and this lip gloss to me is just perfect. Worn on it’s own it’s a gorgeous glassy effect that is a sort of clear, golden colour. It’s also the perfect gloss to put over lipstick and I’ve been wearing it over my Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter and my Charlotte Tilbury ‘Penelope Pink’ lipstick. Every time I wear it, I always get compliments (which is always nice). Plus it smells divine!
Available from www.feelunique.com or www.cloud10beauty.com for €8.50

Ginvera Green Tea Nude Cover BB Cream

Ginvera Green Tea Nude Cover BB Cream

Ginvera Green Tea Nude Cover BB Cream – This has to be my stand out product from all my PowderPocket boxes so far. I had previously been using the L’Oreal Nude Magique CC Cream if I didn’t want to go for a fuller coverage and was having a ‘less make up’ day. But I did find that it gives my skin a bit of an orangey colour and if I’m not tanned or just looking a bit pale, it’s really noticeable. The Ginvera BB Cream does everything you want from a BB Cream. The Ginvera Green Tea Skin Care range hails from Singapore and is much loved through out South-East Asia. It’s enriched with premium Green Tea, Ginseng, Chinese Angelica and Hyaluronic Acid. This BB cream provides the benefits of blemish free concealing, sun block effects (SPF 30), moisturising and reduction of lines, providing a long lasting smooth and ultra light feel to nourish and perfect your skin. It says it’s suitable for all skin tones, but I’m not sure how it would look on a really dark skin. I love how this goes on the skin and it really does give the skin a flawless look. If you had any really red blemishes then you probably would need to add some concealer. I’ve just repurchased this as I will be included in my hospital bag when I have the baby, as it’s the perfect skincare product to make me look more human. A total winner all round and it gets a big thumbs up from me!
Available from www.janiro.co.uk for £18 + P&P

Sleek Make Up Eyebrow Stylist

Sleek Make Up Eyebrow Stylist

Sleek Make Up EyeBrow Stylist – I purchased the medium in this and was intrigued to see if it would be a good alternative to the Charlotte Tilbury Brow Lift pencils, as I can only lust after these. I have been pleasantly surprised by the cheaper Sleek option. At first I wasn’t too taken with it, but after giving it another try, it’s now my everyday brow product. I find that the waxy pencil gives a really nice look to the brows that is quite natural which is due to the rich creamy formula which is matte and velvety. I also love the fact that at the other end of the pencil there is a brush to groom the brows into place. The tip is thicker than most normal eyebrow pencils which means that you can make both thin and thick strokes for outlining and filling.
Available on www.cloud10beauty.com or www.sleekmakeup.com for €7.49

Blank Canvas E10 Brush

Blank Canvas E10 Brush

Blank Canvas E10 (Small Socket Blending Brush) – This little beauty was a free gift with my last order from Blank Canvas and had been rather neglected until recently. It’s turned out to be an absolutely fantastic brush. As someone that doesn’t have huge space between my eyelids and my brow, some blending brushes can sometimes be a little too large and you don’t tend to get the exact look you are looking to achieve. Thanks to the fine bundle of fluffy bristles, it really just concentrates product into the crease whilst still blending it. It’s also great for getting a really defined shade into the crease if that’s the look you’re going for. I will definitely be purchasing another one for my kit.
Available from www.blankcanvascoosmetics.com for €6.99

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation – I had forgotten that I had this foundation tucked away in my make up collection as hadn’t used it for a couple of months and had therefore forgotten how good it is. Nars Sheer Glow will always be my outright favourite foundation, but this comes very close to it. It is essentially almost a perfect match for it. The coverage is medium, but can be built to a fuller coverage when buffed into the skin. The finish leaves a slight illuminating, fresh glow, without being too much, which is exactly like the Nars one. It claims it lasts all day, but I’m not sure it would on combination skins. If you have a normal or slightly dry skin type then I’d say you’d have no bother with this. Overall a fantastic dupe for the Sheer Glow given it is a third of the price.
Available from Boots and pharmacies nationwide for €9.95

So that’s what I’ve been loving for the month of April. What’s you’re stand out products of April been?

Thanks for reading.
